Augustum Liqueur

Several years ago, I launched a “nano-distillery” with rum at its core. But like many distillers, I couldn’t resist experimenting with new flavors and unexpected combinations. One afternoon, I set out to create a rich apple liqueur with a touch of cinnamon. By chance, I had purchased an apple essence that included cherry. The moment I tasted the resulting blend, I knew I had stumbled onto something special. The flavor was richer, more layered, more memorable than I imagined. Visitors to my tasting room felt the same—they asked for it again and again. Determined to bring this discovery to life, I worked through multiple test batches until the recipe was perfected. All it needed was a name worthy of its character. Augustum is a portmanteau of august (meaning “great” or “noble”) and gustum (“taste”). The “III” on the label carries its own meaning: 1. The spirit unites three defining flavors. 2. It took three rounds of development to reach the final blend. 3. And as a “III” myself, I wanted to place a personal mark on the brand.
